He was traveling southbound on South Hayes Avenue in a GMC Terrain when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle veered into the northbound lane and struck a Toyota Camry around 5:10 a.m, CHP said.
Vasquez, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene.
The Camry was occupied by two 21-year-old men, both from Fresno. Both sustained moderate injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
While drugs or alcohol are not suspected as factors in the crash, investigators say Vasquez may have experienced a medical emergency prior to the collision.
